TRADITIONALISTS
(1925-1945)
Traditionalists, also known as the Silent Generation or the Veterans, built many of the organizations that exist today. If you are a Traditionalist, your word is most likely your bond. You may have grown up without indoor plumbing and entertainment meant sitting around the radio listening to Dick Tracy adventures. You worked hard to establish corporations and organizations that have withstood the test of time.
GEN X
(1965-1980)
Gen X is a much smaller generation (about 20 million fewer than the Boomers) but they are mighty. Gen Xers feel like the proverbial middle child, stuck in the middle of the tension often reported between Boomers and Millennials. If you are a Gen Xer, you most likely dislike being micromanaged, are good at developing systems, and are able to flex and adapt to what is going on around you (including the workplace, your kids, and your aging parents). Ready for some "me" time?
GEN Z
(1996-2012)
Gen Z is the youngest generation to enter the workforce. They have been raised by Gen Xers and carry with them an independent spirit that is not afraid to take action. Gen Z is entrepreneurial and their personal devices have a whole new meaning to them. Emojis matter. Customization is key.
BABY BOOMERS
(1946-1964)
Baby Boomers entered the workforce in large numbers and it was about hard work and politics to get to the top of the ladder. You were determined to make the world a better place for your children. At this point in life, you want to be appreciated for the hard work and sacrifices you have made on behalf of those you love and your colleagues. A little bit of gratitude from those around you would probably go a long way.
MILLENNIALS
(1980-1995)
Millennials have changed everything OR the world they have grown up in is so different from the one before that change is inevitable. Millennials often feel misunderstood and many do not like the stereotypes that others so readily seem to apply to them. Wanting to grow and learn is important to them and they want to do it in the most efficient way possible. Millennials want to be a part of something bigger than themselves and feel passionate about what they do. Are you a true Millennial or are you a Xennial?
