/When it comes to keeping high performing employees engaged in the workplace, having effective leaders in place is key. Did you know that there are common leadership blind spots for each generation? Boomers are used to leading and being led by authority. As this style of leadership is not very effective with younger generations, it is important for Boomers to adapt to a more relatable style and not get stuck in the past. Gen-X tends to be self-motivated. One of their greatest blind spots is remembering to bring their team along with them. They can forget to delegate and empower others because they are used to making things happen on their own. Millennials have grown up in an era where information is a commodity. Sometimes this can lead them to believe that they have all the answers. Millennials, don’t forget to seek out wisdom from those who have gone before you. Life experience is an excellent teacher and while the experiences may have taken place before the digital age (in some cases), human beings are still human. Learning those soft skills from older generations will help you rise above your peers in the office.
