Gen X: Don't you forget about me. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't.
A shout out to Gen X (I feel it is much deserved after this recent article)! Gen X, also known as the middle child generation, is often wanting to be seen but feels overlooked. The generational shift in the workplace that is occurring right now has intensified this with Gen Xers expressing that they hear consistently about Millennials and what companies should do to keep them happy and engaged but feel like no one is asking what they need. Gen X also believes they have to consistently be a bridge between the Boomers and the Millennials who they report are often at odds with one another. This Huffington Post article sums it up with, of course, some excellent Gen X commentary. The photo of John Cusack from Say Anything holding up the boombox says it all for me. Which one speaks to you? Before you read it, see if you can figure out what the buzz was from this photo.
